ABSTRACT

 

India is the fourth country with the capacity to produce wind power after China, US and Germany. Wind energy has huge potential in the southern and western parts of mainland India along with few offshore wind sites. Wind turbines are one of the most important components in wind farms. Maintenance of wind turbine is time consumptive and expensive. In this project, we implement fault detection and monitoring system for a small-scale wind turbine simulation using Arduino Uno. Wind turbines are widely used worldwide to generate clean, renewable energy. The biggest issue with a wind turbine is reducing failures and downtime, which lowers costs associated with operations and maintenance. Wind turbines’ consistency and timely maintenance can enhance their performance and dependability. Still, the traditional routine configuration makes detecting faults of wind turbines difficult. Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) produces reliable and affordable quality data for the health condition of wind turbine operations. For wind power to be sufficiently reliable, it is crucial to retrieve useful information from SCADA successfully. The analysis demonstrates that the suggested method successfully identifies faults in wind turbines .

HIGHLIGHTS

The major objective of the study is to develop a computer based system with vibration sensor support to track and detect the performance of the wind turbine.

  • To detect and diagnosis the fault of the gearbox in advance.
  • To minimize the escalation of larger damage.
  • To monitor the performance of parallel machine at a time.
  • To provides the status of the machine about duration of working and quantity of electric power generated.
